Announcement: CURRENT STUDY ABROAD STATUS DUE TO COVID-19

CURRENT STUDY ABROAD STATUS DUE TO COVID-19
For international student travel commencing on or after May 1, 2022, campus presidents have the authority to review and approve travel to destinations listed at a level 1 or level 2 travel advisory from the US Department of State. For destinations listed at a level 3 or above, requests for international student travel must be submitted for review by the MinnState System Chancellor. The Study Abroad Office will assist students in the process of requesting travel approval to either the WSU President or MinnState System Chancellor.
NOTE:  All international WSU faculty-led summer 2022 study abroad programs remain cancelled.

Studying abroad after the emergence of COVID-19 will bring new requirements for students. For example, many providers that offer study abroad programs have a vaccine requirement for student participants. Additionally, testing requirements before departure and return are constantly changing and vary depending on the location. Another change is that some destinations are not permitting international visitors at the moment. We realize these changes can be confusing and stressful, especially because they are in a constant state of flux, however, we are more hopeful than ever before that study abroad is finally resuming. Please contact the Study Abroad Office, studyabroad@winona.edu, with any questions or assistance on navigating the process.
