UNIVERSITY OF SALFORD
Salford forms part of Greater Manchester, with a population of 2.6 million.  The University of Salford has a student population of about 100,000.  The campus is in close proximity to Manchester city centre and has an excellent transportation system.
Salford is an exchange partner, which means students pay Winona State University tuition and the host university’s room and board. Acceptance under the exchange may depend on the balance of incoming and outgoing students.
Historically, the University of Salford  was open only to HERS majors.  However, we have revised the agreement to include all other majors. It should be noted that currently we are out of balance so WSU students are only able to attend Salford by paying full Salford tuition, not WSU tuition.

COURSE OFFERINGS

  • In the United Kingdom, a COURSE refers to a degree or major; a MODULE refers to a class.  Credits transfer back as 5 UK credits equals 1 US credit, so a 20 credit UK class (module) equals a 4 credit class in the US.
  • Module Catalogue for 2019-20
  • Keep in mind, courses for the semester you are abroad may not be available until closer to departure time.  Refer to current or previous semesters for courses that are typically offered.
  • WSU HERS Major students take selected courses at University of Salford with the guarantee they are transferred back as HERS WSU credits.
  • Students from other disciplines will need to seek approval from department chairs through the regular WSU study abroad application.
