On our Semester in Costa Rica program you’ll study in English or Spanish at Universidad Veritas, a local university in bustling and beautiful San Jose. Use the capital city as your launch pad to explore nearby volcanoes and rainforests in your free time. Get to know Costa Rican culture while sipping some of the best coffee in the world with classmates at a local cafe. We’ll show you the true meaning of “Pura Vida” through eye-opening cultural activities and breath-taking excursions.

Budget Information:
To calculate an estimate of the total cost of your program, use the Cost Estimate Template.xlsx and do the following:
1. Go to the CIS website, https://www.cisabroad.com/ , click on Find Your Program in the upper left hand corner and navigate to your program.
2. Once in the desired program, click “Fees & Dates”.  This is the cost of your tuition and housing.
3. In the gray box on the right, select “additional expenses”. Then, select if your program is a semester, summer, or internship. On the bottom of this spreadsheet, select the “additional expenses” tab to break down the estimated costs of meals, supplies, travel, visa, and personal expenses.
4.  In addition to these fees, add the following costs to arrive at your total cost
 
  • Application fee - $65
  • Study Abroad Administrative fee - $460
  • WSU Laptop fee (semester students only) - $485
  • Passport ($140)
