Students are approved to study abroad to destinations listed at a level 1 or 2 travel advisory from the US Department of State. Countries listed at level 3 or 4 due to COVID-19 require approval through MinnState System. The Study Abroad Office will request approval on behalf of the student/faculty-led group.

Studying abroad after the emergence of COVID-19 brings new requirements for students. For example, many providers that offer study abroad programs have a vaccine requirement for student participants. Additionally, testing requirements before departure and return are constantly changing and vary depending on the location. The Study Abroad Office,, can assist with any questions or concerns on navigating the process.
