GOTHENBURG UNIVERSITY
Four-week clinical exchange in cooperation with the University of Gothenburg's Department of Nursing
This course will solidify elements of learning from a multitude of nursing courses, but most specifically the pediatrics, public health and adult health courses.  This course will also expand on the basic knowledge learned about nursing and healthcare practice when English is not the first language, an aspect that is limited in the Winona area.  It will open the eyes of students as they learn to approach healthcare in a new or different way through experiences within Socialized healthcare.  The international focus will provide opportunity to assimilate learning about systems of healthcare with active learning.  There will be experiences working with people who speak English as a second language and the need to observe, acknowledge and respect cultural differences while in a foreign land.
Gothenburg is an exchange partner, which means students pay Winona State University tuition and the host university’s room and board. Acceptance under the exchange may depend on the balance of incoming and outgoing students.
